Responsibilities
Define and communicate the product vision and goals, translating them into actionable product roadmaps that align with Schwab’s business and technical objectives
Own, groom, and prioritize the product backlog—including creation of user stories and Epics—to ensure the team focuses on delivering the highest value items
Serve as the primary liaison between customers, business stakeholders, and the development team, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the product lifecycle
Work closely with developers to clarify requirements, answer questions, and ensure delivered features meet expectations and quality standards
Review and accept completed work (sprint increments) to ensure quality and alignment with the product vision and goals
Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Work with stakeholders to make decisions and negotiate compromises
Communicate effectively at both executive and team levels, mediating and resolving conflicts as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a technology related field
7-9+ years of experience as a Product Owner in Agile environments, with a proven track record of delivering digital products
SAFe certified
Deep understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and experience leading Agile teams
Demonstrated ability to define product vision, strategy, and roadmaps, and translate them into actionable work for development teams
Strong experience in backlog management, user story creation, and prioritization based on business value
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into user stories and serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical audiences
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including design, development, QA, and operations
Proven ability to review and validate sprint deliverables, ensuring alignment with product goals and quality standards
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes
Preferred
Certified Product Owner
Financial industry Experience; familiarity with brokerage accounts, trading
Strong facilitation skills and ability to drive necessary outcomes in dynamic environments
Experience with digital platforms, cloud technologies, and enterprise software
