Darling Ingredients is seeking an Environmental Affairs Intern to assist the Environmental Affairs Department in ensuring compliance with environmental statutes and regulations. The intern will support the development and implementation of programs, maintain records, and assist in the preparation of environmental permit applications.

Responsibilities

Assist the Environmental Affairs team in the development and implementation of programs, procedures or activities necessary to ensure compliance with applicable statutes and regulations related to the company operations

Support maintenance of records necessary to track environmental authorization reports, expirations, and renewals

Shadow and assist in the development of programs and training to ensure the appropriate level of environmental compliance knowledge is maintained

Assist in the preparation and review of environmental permit or renewal applications under the guidance of the Environmental Affairs team

Assist in tracking and reviewing changes in environmental statutes and regulations on the local, state, and federal level

Assist with maintaining the company's environmental management system by helping to ensure permit terms and conditions are accurately recorded

Assist in the preparation and submission of Tier II, TRI, GHG, and AEI Reports to states and EPA

Assist in development of wastewater management system program to oversee field wastewater treatment systems

Assist Environmental Affairs Wastewater team in providing environmental engineering, technical, and administrate support to the field operations related to the process control, management, and troubleshooting of wastewater treatment facilities
