Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic operating plans and deliver profitable growth and achievement of short-term and long-term business and financial results
Drive company results from both an operational and financial perspective working closely with the Regional Manager and other senior leaders
Devise tactics to reduce costs, increase revenues and maintain a high level of overall office performance and client satisfaction
Build and maintain a team of knowledgeable, skilled, technical and client-focused employees and facilitate development through coaching, mentoring and training
Oversee risk management for the business operation
Maintain awareness and exercise judgment in areas of market conditions, competitive activities, general economic conditions and governmental statutes and regulations
Build and support a safety-first culture that emphasizes employee health and wellness across all aspects of working at 2MNEXT
Establish and maintain an effective system of communication throughout the office
Plan, manage, and oversee projects, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and quality assurance
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring project objectives align with their needs
Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and project scopes in collaboration with internal teams
Monitor project progress and performance, addressing challenges to maintain timelines and budgets
Review and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports
Ensure all testing and inspection services meet industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory compliance
Provide guidance to technical staff on testing methodologies and problem-solving in the field
Supervise and mentor field and laboratory staff, fostering a culture of professional development and collaboration
Manage staff assignments and workloads, ensuring efficient and effective utilization of resources
Coordinate with other offices for integrated project delivery
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to support repeat business and referrals
Significant project experience and client relationships in the transportation (DOT and consultants) and airport market sectors
Identify and pursue opportunities for new projects and clients, representing the company in meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities
Provide regular project updates and communicate effectively with clients to manage expectations and deliverables
Ensure adherence to company safety protocols, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
Conduct project audits and ensure compliance with internal quality management systems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field
5+ years of experience in civil engineering or construction materials testing, including project management experience
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, TDOT and other CMT standards and practices
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools; familiarity with engineering software is a plus
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Strong management and financial skills
Preferred
NICET, ICC, or similar certifications in materials testing and inspection
Experience with geotechnical engineering and construction QA/QC services
Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or PMP Certification
Established network of industry contacts and clients
