Field Service Tech

The Field Service Tech I – Biomed role involves performing maintenance and support on medical equipment, ensuring documentation is accurate, and collaborating with hospital staff while traveling extensively to various accounts.

Responsibilities
Performing preventive maintenance inspections, installation support, testing, calibration, troubleshooting and maintenance on hospital equipment such as; maintenance support on general medical equipment, as needed
Collaborates and maintains positive relationships with customers and hospital staff & Administration
Ensuring service documentation is complete, accurate and timely entered into the BSI work order management system
Providing assistance to all other levels of technicians/engineers as needed in regards to trouble shooting repairs
Willingness to be available for after hour service calls as directed by Manager
Representing BSI in front-line leadership tasks such as, but not limited to, Environment of care meetings/rounds
Maintains a department "culture" that is patient-focused and participates in teamwork, quality, integrity and professional growth upholding the Prime Healthcare Mission and Vision at all times
Provides a positive representation of Bio-Medical Services, Inc. by integrating core values into job performance
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 0-3 years' experience servicing medical equipment
Ability to travel 100% of the time
Knowledge of TJC, DNV, HFAP, CAP, NFPA, CMS, HIPAA, other applicable standards and regulations required
High degree of self-motivation, commitment and integrity
Must exhibit a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Strong computer skills (MS Office, Clinical applications, CMMS systems)
Knowledge of principles and practices of electronics and biomedical engineering technology as applied to the calibration and repair of biomedical equipment
Ability to troubleshoot, read schematics and/or blue prints
Valid driver's license required
Preferred
OEM training certificates in specialty medical equipment preferred
Field related technical certifications (like A+, CBET, CRES or CLES) preferred
Ideal candidate would be a quick-learner, open to working under challenges and able to project the needed confidence to carry out required tasks independently
