Responsibilities

Provide analysis and feedback on design development
Show compliance to structural airworthiness regulations
Document analysis and airworthiness in technical reports for review by airworthiness authorities
Review technical reports from other organizations or teams
Evaluate non-conforming installations and/or repairs for acceptability
Manage structural engineering tasking across programs and team members
Provide airframe structural engineering mentorship to early career engineers

Required

Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Advanced knowledge of Static and/or Dynamic Analyses
The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred

Experience with Commercial Derivative Aircraft and/or Supplemental Type Certificate programs
Experience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element structural analysis (FEA) tools such as MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS
Experience performing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis utilizing tools such as NASGRO or AFGROW
Ability to perform classical analysis using industry standard hand calculation methods
Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes
Ability to author substantiation reports
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
