Responsibilities

Develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of projects, including large-scale institutional, industrial, and mixed-use developments

Help build and lead a team of civil engineering professionals

Provide technical and career guidance as a mentor to staff

Support preparation of land development design and permitting documents

Assist in project task scope, budget and schedule management

Prepare and review drawings and specifications documenting the systems designed

Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues

Supervise design team activities during Construction Administration

Manage work and development of junior level staff

Manage small, medium, or large tasks

Support business development activities, including identifying new opportunities, developing client relationships, and preparing technical proposals and fee estimates

Help expand VHB’s footprint across Tampa and the broader Florida market through strategic pursuits, networking, and proactive client engagement

Participate in strategy discussions for client pursuits and collaborate with leadership to grow market presence in Florida’s land development sector

Maintain and grow existing client relationships while actively increasing VHB’s visibility through professional organization involvement and community presence

Required

BS in Civil Engineering or related field

8+ years of professional site/civil engineering experience, including consulting/private sector experience

PE licensure required

Experience in the Florida market, particularly the greater Tampa area, is required
