Responsibilities
Providing excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do. Whether it’s a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you’ll handle each interaction with professionalism and care. Your willingness to help guests with what they need will make a positive impact every day
Help guests locate items on or off the sales floor and professionally answer the Deli Department telephone
Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests with attention to detail and quality
Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly using the boomerang principle to ensure a positive experience
Inspect, rotate, maintain proper temperatures, and replenish all deli products on display to ensure high standards
Maintain proper inventory levels in the deli storage, including containers, lids, spoons, tags, and more
Lead by example in maintaining food safety logs and adhering to all safety standards
Ensure all quality standards, including quantity expectations, are met by 10 am and 5 pm daily
Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues in a dynamic and stressful work environment, while supporting team members
Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper training on slicers, lifting techniques, trash compactors, and balers
Knowledge of the retail food business, perishable department operations, and merchandising skills, with the ability to make timely and effective decisions
Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
Full range of upper body motion
Ability to work at a fast pace
May be exposed to extreme temperatures

Weekly Pay & Premium Pay: Hourly associates are paid weekly, providing more frequent access to their funds. Part-time store associates are paid a $1 premium per hour on Sundays and select holidays. Hourly full-time store associates receive time and a half on Sundays and select holidays.
