Applied Systems Canada is a division of Applied focused on innovation in the insurance ecosystem. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Frontend/React) to design and implement web applications and services in an Agile environment, utilizing technologies like Typescript and React.

Computer Software

Responsibilities

Work with the team to design and implement software utilizing object-oriented principles, design patterns, and testing practices
Design user-based interactions through effective front-end architecture
Design and implement RESTful services and APIs
Review code written by peers, focusing on readability and efficiency
Participate in weekly stand-ups in an Agile environment with both local and remote employees
Integrate with 3rd party APIs (both REST and SOAP)
Ensure the entire stack is designed and built for security, speed, and scalability

Qualification

Required

5+ years of experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/Typescript, and React
Strong understanding of the web development cycle and programming techniques, and tools
Extensive knowledge of the React library
Highly experienced with interacting with backend services
Proficiency with microservice architecture, event-driven programming, async design
Git and continuous integration best practices
Understanding and implementation of security and data protection
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and a head for problem-solving
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, Kanban a plus

Preferred

Experience working with Python/Django
Experience with Elastic Search
Strong understanding of the Google Cloud Platform
