Postdoctoral Scholar - Research Associate
The University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Dermatopathology Histology Technician II. The role involves performing specialized diagnostic histology procedures and ensuring the optimal functioning of the Dermatopathology Laboratory.

Responsibilities
Performs highly specialized diagnostic histology, including grossing, routine processing, embedding, sectioning and staining tissue specimens, for microscopic examination by the Dermatopathologist
Prepares solutions, performs special stain techniques, and provides leadership in development of new and modified lab techniques
Performs specialized procedures such as frozen sections, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence
Determines proper fixative solutions in which tissues are maintained
Serves as the resource for coordination of research projects, test validation, and clinical test implementation activities in the department
Responsible for Quality Metrics to improve the value of patient care
Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable state and federal regulatory agencies
Qualification
Required
Related undergraduate study
Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification required from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
3 years of experience
Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum work experience
Preferred
Bachelor's degree
ASCP issued Immunohistochemistry (QHIC) certification
5 years of experience
