Mechanical Engineering Co-op (Summer to Fall 2026)
Legrand is a global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures. They are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op to assist the Product Development Team in product designs through CAD modeling, testing, and solving design-related issues.

Responsibilities
Modeling and documenting design elements for engineering solutions
Creating testing environments for products, conducting the tests and documenting results
Reviewing product standards and updating as required
Working on manufacturing floor to solve design related issues
Qualification
Required
College Junior or higher preferred; Pursuing a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree
Currently enrolled in- or recently completed BSME or BSEE
Creative approach to problem solving based on solid theoretical engineering skill
Willing to provide engineering support required to sustain current product offering as well as evaluate new product designs. This includes performing product testing in the laboratory
Proficiency in SolidWorks which includes the development of assemblies using part models of components is preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must have an acceptable level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment
Must be able to contribute to several projects at a time
Prepare written and verbal reports
Conduct engineering studies/investigations
Use written and oral communication skills
Read and interpret data, information and documents
Analyze and solve non-routine and complex office administrative problems
Use math and mathematical reasoning
Observe and interpret situations
Learn and apply new information or skills
Perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks
Work under intensive deadlines with frequent interruptions
Interact with managers, staff, customers, the public and others encountered in the course of work
Sit, walk and stand
Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone
Use hands repetitively operate standard office equipment
Reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
Preferred
Proficiency in SolidWorks which includes the development of assemblies using part models of components is preferred
Familiarity with usage of a network analyzer, hand held cable analyzer (i.e. Fluke), and multimeter
