The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis, dedicated to promoting its growth across all levels in the United States. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced security professionals, gaining exposure to operational planning for major events and assisting in the development of security and medical response plans.

Responsibilities

Assist in reviewing, assessing, and refining security and medical deployment plans for the US Open
Participate in risk assessments, site planning, and threat-mitigation discussions
Support the development of emergency response procedures and operational documentation
Collaborate with the Security team on planning meetings, logistics coordination, and strategy sessions
Research best practices in event security, crowd management, and emergency preparedness
Help analyze previous event data to identify improvements and enhance operational efficiency
Observe elements of on-site security operations (if timing and access allow) to understand real-world execution

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in Homeland Security, Intelligence, Criminal Justice, or a related field
Detail-oriented, motivated, and eager to learn from hands-on experience
Strong communicator with the ability to work collaboratively
Interested in large-scale event security, emergency management, or public safety
