Responsibilities
D365 SME is responsible for delivering the features defined in the product roadmap for integrating Vertex Indirect tax solutions to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 product suite
Engage stakeholders to obtain and document requirements
Ability to assess customer and business expectations and transforming them to requirements
Create proof of concepts and lead the requirements gathering process for developing the solutions
Create new epic and breakdown user stories for the engineering team
Communicate with management and stakeholders
Coordinate with system administrators, developers, and architects
Analyze data and produce business insights
Facilitate the delivery of business solutions
Support the Microsoft Ecosystem with the following outcomes:
Understand the Microsoft integrations, enhancements and new initiative opportunities that feed into the Microsoft Integration Product Roadmap
Collaborate with Product Management by gathering feature and function requirements from clients/partners for existing and new initiatives
Collaborate with Product Manager and Engineering in planning efforts to align with Vertex delivering
Serve as D365 SME for Direct and Indirect Sales teams, Consulting, and Product Support
Participating on daily Scrum calls, meetings, product roadmap, and in program execution
Other functions may be assigned, and management retains the right to add or change the duties at any time
Qualification
Required
Strong functional and technical knowledge of Microsoft D365 platform, especially Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, Sales/CRM, D365 Finance and Operations
Understanding of Agile development process
Strong project management skills
Capable to coordinate features across the portfolio of products within different line of business
Understanding of product lifecycle from definition to end of life
Experience working with Engineering teams and coordinating with product management team
Ability to assess customer and business expectations and transforming them to requirements
Ability to establish clear client objectives, approach, process and plan to achieve promised value of Vertex Indirect Tax solutions
Demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to influence at all levels within the organization
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Influencing and negotiation skills - ability to influence and negotiate when faced with opposing views or resistance
Strong presentation skills
Strategic thinking
Self-motivated, accountable approach and a strong sense of teamwork
Must be results oriented, customer focused, and exhibit good interpersonal skills
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Computer Science, MIS; Master's Degree preferred
Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Azure Certifications
8 or more years' experience in Microsoft ecosystem software development and/or implementation
Strong background in ERP concepts, such as supply chain, manufacturing, planning, production, and distribution
Strong working experience with accounting and finance process and procedures
Experience with designing solutions for Microsoft Dynamics 365
Experience using Agile or Hybrid-Agile methodology
Proficiency in Microsoft Productivity suite
Preferred
knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service
Experience implementing full life cycle ERP/Tax applications (a plus)
Working knowledge of Tax Solutions
Experience with Atlassian JIRA (preferred) or equivalent engineering story and defect management tools
ERP, Tax/Tax Technology or Tax Professional Certifications and/ or Credentials recommended
