Ophthalmology Researcher Glaucoma (Open Rank)

The University of South Florida Libraries is seeking a junior faculty member to join its research mission in the Department of Ophthalmology. The role involves performing basic science and translational research, as well as teaching and mentoring students and postdoctoral fellows.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Maintain a nationally competitive research program with continued extramural funding, peer-reviewed publications, and collaboration with other faculty
Participate in didactic teaching and mentoring medical and graduate students
Participate in service functions of the department and university, as well as at the national levels, including committees, editorial boards, and study sections

Qualification

Doctoral degreeResearch experienceTeaching experiencePeer-reviewed publicationsCollaboration skillsMentoring skills

Required

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service
Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor
Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals

Preferred

Research experience in dry eye, glaucoma, cornea or neuro-optics
