Vice President Operations

The Vice President of Operations is responsible for driving operational excellence across all business divisions, with a focus on protein bars and functional snack products, overseeing manufacturing, supply chain, project management, finance, and administration.

Responsibilities
Champion and cultivate FoodStory Brands’ culture and values across all departments
Develop and execute operational strategies focused on speed to market, scalability, efficiency, and profitability for protein bars and related products
Oversee protein bar production operations, ensuring excellence in quality, texture consistency, and nutritional integrity
Lead end-to-end supply chain functions including procurement of specialized ingredients (whey, plant proteins, nut butters), transportation, production planning, inventory management, and supplier/customer replenishment relationships
Ensure compliance with food safety standards (FDA, USDA, SQF, HACCP) and maintain audit readiness for certifications such as Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, and Organic
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across bar extrusion, enrobing, and packaging processes
Utilize automation and data systems to enhance operational performance and throughput for bar manufacturing lines
Manage commercialization of new protein bar SKUs and functional snack products, including branded, private label, and licensed offerings
Optimize existing programs in collaboration with co-packers, suppliers, warehouses, and carriers to ensure cost efficiency and operational excellence
Ensure timely execution of product launches from concept to shelf, maintaining high standards of customer service and regulatory compliance
Collaborate with executive leadership to define and execute strategic operational goals for protein bar category growth
Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, IT, Legal, HR, R&D, and Sales to align operations with broader business objectives
Develop and manage annual, quarterly, and monthly budgets at both division and brand levels
Establish and enforce operational policies, standards, and security protocols
Conduct regular team engagement activities including 1:1s, KPI reviews, onboarding, training, and career development planning
Approve staffing decisions, compensation adjustments, and time-off requests
Stay informed on emerging trends and technologies in protein bar manufacturing and operations management
Travel approximately 4-6 times per month
Qualification
Required
8–15 years in operations leadership, including 5+ years in food manufacturing and multi-site management with a focus on protein bars or snack category
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or Business preferred
Strong business acumen, data-driven decision-making, and expertise in bar manufacturing systems and supply chain complexities for high-protein products
Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and complex operational systems
Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L management
Demonstrated success in co-packer and supply chain management for protein bars and functional snacks
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems
