3+ years expWild Birds Unlimited is seeking an organized and reliable Backroom Associate to support the store's operations. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that the backroom is well-organized and stocked, contributing to a seamless customer experience.
Retail
Responsibilities
Receive, unpack, and organize shipments of birding products and merchandise
Label/tag merchandise and check for consistency throughout the store
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the backroom, ensuring that inventory is properly stored and easily accessible
Assist with restocking the sales floor by replenishing merchandise when necessary
Accurately label products and track inventory levels, work with manager on re-orders
Collaborate with store associates to fulfill customer orders and prepare products for pickup or shipment
Help maintain overall store organization and cleanliness
Position includes working the sales floor as well as the backroom
Deliver outstanding customer service: Greet and assist customers, and provide expert advice on bird feeding, birdwatching, and nature-related products
Qualification
Required
Must have at least 3 to 5 years of sales experience
Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills and be a self-starter
Must be able to lift and carry up to 20-50 lbs. repeatedly
Must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Must be dependable and punctual and be able to work weekends and holidays
Must be proficient on a computer including experience with Excel and Word at an intermediate level
Must be able to talk to customers and have customer service experience
Preferred
Supervisory, or management experience is preferred; position offers opportunity for advancement
Experience in backyard bird feeding is preferred or a desire to learn and be engaged in the hobby is preferred
