Tulane University School of Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to join the Sea Level Lab of Dr. Sönke Dangendorf. The role involves working on NSF and NASA funded projects focused on the reconstruction and analysis of coastal mean sea-level changes, particularly in relation to nonlinear vertical land motion and coastal flooding.

Responsibilities
Assessments of vertical land motion based on multiple different observational and proxy records
Mapping reconstructions of coastal sea-level changes based on tide gauge and ancillary information
Building Bayesian frameworks that properly take into account uncertainties of different observational and model networks
Qualification
Required
PhD in physical oceanography, coastal engineering, geodesy, geosciences, or sea-level science
Experience with reconstruction and analysis of coastal mean sea-level changes
Knowledge of nonlinear vertical land motion and their contribution to coastal flooding
Ability to conduct assessments of vertical land motion based on multiple observational and proxy records
Experience in mapping reconstructions of coastal sea-level changes based on tide gauge and ancillary information
Skill in building Bayesian frameworks that account for uncertainties of different observational and model networks
Passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion in scientific research
