Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of solutions architects, fostering technical excellence and customer focus
Establish standards, methodologies, and best practices for solution design and proposal development
Allocate resources and assign projects based on complexity, strategic importance, and team capabilities
Build a collaborative culture that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
Develop training programs and technical documentation to elevate team expertise
Recruit and onboard top talent to grow the solutions architecture function
Personally lead the most complex, high-value, and strategically critical projects
Create system-level architectures that balance customer technical requirements with financial objectives
Perform advanced dynamic modeling to validate functional performance
Define project scope, budgets, and financial structures for enterprise-level opportunities
Serve as the technical authority for the most challenging customer requirements
Partner with Sales leadership to shape go-to-market strategy and competitive positioning
Lead customer meetings and executive presentations for strategic accounts
Conduct critical site walks and technical assessments that inform major proposals
Review and approve all major technical proposals, ensuring quality and consistency
Guide the team in addressing technical risks and opportunities throughout the sales cycle
Provide technical expertise that differentiates our solutions in competitive situations
Work with Engineering, Product Management, Finance, Service Operations, and Project Management at a strategic level
Champion the voice of the customer within product development discussions
Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes and solution development workflows
Establish feedback loops between sales, delivery, and engineering to capture lessons learned
Lead the development of applications for emerging technologies from Engineering and Advanced Technology teams
Create scalable processes that support business growth
Stay ahead of industry trends in critical power, distributed power generation, and energy storage
Identify opportunities to apply new technologies to customer challenges
Build the organization's technical knowledge base
Represent the company at industry events and customer forums as a technical thought leader
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, pre-sales engineering, or technical design roles within energy, industrial, or complex systems industries
3+ years of leadership experience, including managing technical teams
Deep technical expertise with demonstrated ability to master complex energy technologies
Proven track record of winning large, complex deals through technical excellence
Advanced proficiency in CAD software, 3D visualization tools, and engineering analysis
Exceptional communication skills—able to influence executives, mentor teams, and present to customers
Strong business acumen with experience in project scoping, budgeting, and financial modeling
Willingness to travel regularly for customer meetings, site visits, and team development
Preferred
Extensive knowledge of critical power solutions and distributed power generation systems
Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field)
MBA or advanced technical degree
Experience scaling technical teams in a growth environment
