Dewberry is a leading professional services firm looking for a Part-Time Principal Engineer to enhance their Mid-Atlantic Water/Wastewater Services practice. The role involves managing client relationships, leading engineering projects, and supporting business development efforts in the water/wastewater sector.

Responsibilities

Client management of key municipal water/wastewater clients

Support and lead proposal efforts for municipal water/wastewater contracts and/or projects

Support and lead client action and capture plans for specific clients or opportunities

Project management and engineering lead for wastewater collections system evaluation and design projects

Support and/or prepare task order proposals for on-call engineering contracts

Mentorship of younger engineers and project managers in water/wastewater design, project management, and client management

Participate in water/wastewater organizations including presenting at conferences to expand Dewberry’s brand in the water market

Required

B.S. degree in Civil Engineering field is required; M.S. degree preferred

A Professional Engineering license is required

25 + years' experience of increasing levels of project and client responsibilities for public sector water and wastewater projects

A minimum of 10 years' project management and technical staff supervision experience

A successful track record of building water/wastewater client relationships in Northern Virginia's water/wastewater market, particularly high-profile regional clients

A successful track record of managing projects, including scope, schedule, and budget

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong client retention and new business development skills

Strong leadership qualities and ability to coach and mentor junior and mid-level staff
