Novelis is a leader in aluminum recycling and rolling, committed to shaping a sustainable world. They are seeking a Joining and Forming Engineer Co-op to support aluminum alloy joining process development, testing, and reporting, contributing to product and process development.

Responsibilities
Conduct literature research about current joining methods and practices for the proposed material combinations
Develop high performance welding solutions for automotive applications including fundamental investigation and optimization of weld filler metal for various end uses
Conduct tests and analyze results
Document and report research findings
Qualification
Required
Master's student in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant fields
Strong commitment to safety and effective team collaboration
Hands-on laboratory experience in laser welding, metallography, mechanical testing and electron microscopy
Good writing and presentation skills
Preferred
PhD student in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Welding or relevant fields
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision
Experience in Design of Experiment, data analytics, and modeling/simulation
Extensive hands-on laboratory experience, preferably with laser processing
Proven record in conference presentation and journal publication
