Vivarium Support Technician I - Cage Wash

Cincinnati Children's Office of Academic Affairs and Career Development is dedicated to improving children's health through a collaborative team approach. The Vivarium Support Technician I - Cage Wash is responsible for cleaning and maintaining cages and equipment, ensuring safety and proper operation of equipment, and managing supplies in the vivarium.

Hospital & Health Care

Responsibilities

Cage Wash - Cleans & sterilizes cages, equipment, supplies, rooms (primary and secondary enclosures), etc. Prepares refuse for disposal or incineration
Equipment Operation - Able to operate pressure washer and industrial cage washers, perform and document functions performed in the appropriate log, and clean and maintain all cages, automatic water lines, and other related equipment
Housekeeping - Completes daily and periodic housekeeping of assigned areas which may include bathrooms, locker rooms, and surgery spaces within the vivarium. Restocks and maintains appropriate inventory levels of supplies in assigned areas
Safety - Monitors first aid kits, eye wash stations and functioning emergency exit on cage was equipment. Monitors & maintains washers & sterilizers in proper working condition
Supplies and Equipment - Delivers clean and/or dirty equipment and cages to and from cage wash as required. Maintains efficient organization & flow of supplies & equipment through cage wash area

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand the duration of shift
Ability to perform repetitive physical activities such as pushing and pulling wheeled racks and carts
Ability to utilize a ladder or step stool
Ability to lift above shoulder level
Ability to reach, stoop, and bend

Preferred

Related experience working in supply chain, materials management or warehouse roles
