Responsibilities
Design, develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, IMS DB/DC, JCL, and CICS
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Write, optimize, and troubleshoot DB2 queries, stored procedures, and batch jobs
Support application performance tuning, debugging, and defect resolution
Manage batch processing workflows with JCL and CA Scheduler
Provide production support and ensure system reliability
Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and operations to ensure smooth delivery
Document technical processes and contribute to system modernization initiatives
Qualification
Required
Strong hands-on expertise in COBOL and DB2
Experience with IMS DB/DC, JCL, and CICS in enterprise environments
Proficiency in designing, coding, testing, and supporting mainframe applications
Solid understanding of enterprise application architecture and SDLC
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application and performance issues
Preferred
Experience with CA Scheduler or similar job scheduling tools
Knowledge of application modernization strategies (e.g., migrating legacy applications to distributed or cloud platforms)
Familiarity with performance monitoring and tuning in DB2 and CICS environments
Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing skills
Exposure to Agile development methodologies
