Responsibilities
Conduct functional, performance, regression, and stress testing of embedded software components
Identify, document, and track software defects and work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution
Design and implement automated test scripts and work with existing frameworks (e.g., Python, C/C++) for continuous integration and testing
Develop, configure and maintain test environments, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulators, and other specialized test equipment
Analyze system requirements and specifications to ensure test coverage is complete and accurate
Participate in design and code reviews to provide input on testability and quality
Maintain and update documentation related to testing processes, tools, and results
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, software developers, systems engineering, and operations personnel
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field and 4+ years of experience in embedded software testing or verification, or an advanced degree and 2+ years of experience
Strong proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python) and experience with C/C++ for embedded systems
Proven experience with test methodologies, test planning, and defect tracking tools
Familiarity with communication protocols commonly used in embedded systems (e.g., CAN, SPI, I2C, UART)
Experience setting up and troubleshooting complex test setups preferably involving physical hardware and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies)
Solid understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS)
Must be available for potential US and international travel to support BGSE installations
Experience working in an agile or fast-paced development environment
Ability to lift 25 pounds and work in potentially noisy environments
Preferred
Knowledge of electric vehicle (EV) battery systems, battery management systems (BMS), and charging standards (e.g., CCS, CHAdeMO, relevant industrial standards)
Familiarity with communication protocols commonly used in embedded systems (e.g., CAN, SPI, I2C, UART)
Experience testing BGSE or similar high-voltage systems
Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing platforms
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Knowledge of Ethernet/UDP networking
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
