Joby Aviation is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join their Powertrain and Electronics team. In this hands-on role, you’ll support the manufacturing ramp-up of electronic equipment and collaborate closely with a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

Create and develop manufacturing work instructions
Develop processes for manufacturing, assembly or manufacturing testing
Design and create drawings for tools, jigs, and fixtures
Improve existing production line, processes, procedures fixtures and tools

Qualification

Required

Pursuing undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering; previous co-op, internship, or related work experience required
Heading into junior or senior year of undergraduate degree or above
Available Summer 2026
Excellent problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills while working with cross functional teams
Strong analytical and practical understanding of mechanical design and design for manufacturing
Ability to take a proactive hands-on approach to problem solving, prototyping and iterative design
Proficient with 3D CAD and 2D drawing software
Practical manufacturing or machine shop experience
