Early-Career Geotechnical Engineer

Responsibilities
Conducting geotechnical field investigations
Evaluating laboratory testing results
Monitoring heavy civil construction projects
Performing and reviewing engineering calculations
Earthquake engineering
Landfill design and permitting
Dam and levee evaluations
Developing construction documents; and
Writing and reviewing engineering reports
Fieldwork: Up to 35%
Overnight Travel: Up to 35%
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil, geotechnical or environmental engineering or geology
Experience with numerical modeling such as PLAXIS, FLAC, or MPM
Regular field work and overnight travel
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing
Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
Preferred
Advanced degree in one of those fields
At least 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education, research positions, and experience
Prior internship or work experience in engineering consulting
Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as AutoCAD and Slope/W
