RS&H is seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer to join their growing Transportation Group. The role involves leading roadway and highway design, managing project deliverables, and collaborating on multidisciplinary projects to support infrastructure growth in South Carolina.

Responsibilities

Lead roadway/highway design, analysis, and plans production for conventional and design-build projects across South Carolina

Work closely with teams on projects for clients such as SCDOT, county, and municipal agencies, while contributing to innovative solutions that support the state’s infrastructure growth

Manage tasks related to project deliverables, including specifications, estimates, and reports, while ensuring they meet project timelines and budgets

Collaborate on complex, multidiscipline projects through cross-office workshare, gaining exposure to projects across regional and national markets

Support business development and marketing efforts to help expand our transportation practice

Prepare and compile project specifications, perform design and impact analyses, and develop complete project documents

Coordinate project efforts with key task leaders and staff to ensure ongoing communication and adherence to project schedules and budgets

Perform field reviews and observations of construction projects to enhance your understanding of design applications and construction practices

Ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle and contribute innovative solutions to solve design and engineering challenges

Stay informed of federal, state, and local regulations, codes, and criteria while maintaining professional registration and licensure

Provide technical guidance and mentor junior staff, as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transportation engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) license

Proficiency in production software and construction document production

Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders

Preferred

Experience with Microstation, InRoads, OpenRoads, Bluebeam REVU is a plus
