Responsibilities

Supervises and assist in monitoring the efficiency of general clinical laboratory and pathology operations
Operational planning
Oversees the day to day operation
Orientation/in-service-training-motivation-performance evaluation and management of staff
Organizing and delineating all duties and responsibilities of all clinical testing including POC
Quality management
Workflow and processes
Problem solving
Equipment maintenance
Inter-hospital relationships with the laboratory
TAT evaluation
Proficiency testing review
Various other projects that are assigned

Qualification

Clinical Laboratory Scientist licenseASCP certificationLIS skillsLeadership experienceManual dexterityStress managementPeople skillsEnglish proficiencyOrganizational skills

Required

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college of university
A valid and current Clinical Laboratory Scientist license issued by the State of California Department of Health Services
Must be able to converse well in English because of physician, nurse, and patient contact
Have good manual dexterity
Work well in times of stress
Have excellent organizational skills
Have excellent people skills
Have computer / LIS skills

Preferred

A master's degree is a plus but not required
ASCP certification is preferred, but not required
At least 6 years of experience as a lead/supervisor CLS preferred
