Assistant/Associate/Professor – Pediatrics Hematology/Oncology

The University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist for a position as Assistant/Associate Professor of Pediatrics. The role focuses on basic and translational research in pediatric oncology while also providing care for inpatients and outpatients with pediatric hematologic and oncologic issues.

Responsibilities

The position includes care of inpatients and outpatients with a variety of pediatric hematologic and oncologic problems, including those followed at the OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois Cancer and Blood disorder Institute
Position includes dedicated time in the lab to conduct individual basic or translational research in pediatric oncology at University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria Campus
See referral hematology/oncology consultations from throughout the Central Illinois Region
Fully participate in teaching programs in hematology and oncology for undergraduate medical students and residents and participate in the undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs of the Department
Organize and conduct bench and/or clinical research in the field of pediatric hematology/oncology
Participate in cooperative research efforts and clinical trials research protocols at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee and the Children’s Oncology Group (COG). This clinic is both a St Jude affiliate as well as active COG site
Perform other duties of a university faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration, as needed
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned

Required

Eligible for licensure in Illinois
Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
3 years of Pediatrics Residency and 3 years of Hematology/Oncology Fellowship
MD/DO or equivalent
Experience in basic/translational lab work
