Mechanical Engineering Co-op (Summer to Fall 2026)

Legrand, North America has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Wiremold Team. In this role, the Engineering Intern will assist the Product Development Team in product designs through CAD modeling and drawing documentation, and will work on various engineering challenges and testing of products.

Modeling and documenting design elements for engineering solutions
Creating testing environments for products, conducting the tests and documenting results
Reviewing product standards and updating as required
Working on manufacturing floor to solve design related issues

Required

College Junior or higher preferred; Pursuing a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree
Currently enrolled in- or recently completed BSME or BSEE
Creative approach to problem solving based on solid theoretical engineering skill
Willing to provide engineering support required to sustain current product offering as well as evaluate new product designs. This includes performing product testing in the laboratory
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must have an acceptable level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment
Must be able to contribute to several projects at a time
Prepare written and verbal reports
Conduct engineering studies/investigations

Preferred

Proficiency in SolidWorks which includes the development of assemblies using part models of components is preferred
Preferred but not required is familiarity with usage of a network analyzer, hand held cable analyzer (i.e. Fluke), and multimeter
