Responsibilities

Monitoring activities on construction sites and performing testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt pavement materials, etc. A company truck, phone, and safety equipment will be provided at our office
This position will require candidate to perform field testing and observation of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt)
Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation
Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis
Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas

Required

This position will be subject to outside environmental conditions, including weather conditions such as wet and /or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments
Work will primarily be in the field involving long-term standing and frequent walking as well as include common hazards at construction and project sites
Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 10-12 hours a day on occasion
Must have the ability to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk
Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required
Additional physical duties may be required, as necessary
Qualified candidates should have basic math and writing skills
Strong work ethics
Ability to work as a team player
A valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) is required
A background report will also be required as part of our onboarding process

Preferred

Experience in materials testing and certifications from ACI, Troxler and FDOT are preferred
Will train employees without work experience; but prefer that candidates have at least some construction-related work history
ACI, Troxler & FDOT appreciated, but will train
