Responsibilities

Execute all aspects of events at Heinz Hall, including food and beverage catering needs
Manage banquet service operations to achieve customer satisfaction, quality service and compliance with corporate/franchise policies and procedures
Responsible for long and short term planning and day-to-day operations of the banquet section
Recommend policy and procedural changes
Implement and monitor the department's budget and manage expenses within approved budget constraints
Analyze banquet event orders and communicate effectively with customers, managers and associates
Review all schedules, equipment, supplies and organize work flow to ensure a quality event
Monitor and control banquet budget and coordinate with event budgets
Implement company programs and resolve daily operational problems
Supervise human resources in the banquet area to retain and motivate associates

Required

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
One year minimum in concessions or hotel catering experience
Requires knowledge of general sales techniques
Yield management experience required
Requires highly developed customer service skills
Strong follow-up and guest satisfaction skills
Understand and follow verbal/written instructions
Work on more than one task at a time
Develop strong internal and customer relationships
Set and manage priorities and plan activities in advance
Solve problems and make sound business decisions
Respond to coaching, feedback and training
Must be detail oriented
Lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying tables, chairs, boxes (50 lb. maximum) occasionally
Bending/kneeling required for taping down cords, skirting tables, picking up floor after function, occasionally
Mobility - ability to service clients on a moments notice, variable distances, 100%
Continuous standing - function observation, client site inspections (one hour minimum to four hours maximum)
Climbing stairs up to approximately 55 steps 3-5% of 10 hours
