Mechanical Engineer II

Responsibilities
Conduct research of submarine construction drawings using the Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) System
Part of a team that develops submarine shipboard alterations
Learn while working with an experienced engineering staff
Conduct static analysis of mechanical structures
Conduct hydrodynamic analyses under a variety of at-sea operational conditions
Develop models to predict performance
Assist the Design Team with material selection based on in-process stress calculations as well as commercial and/or military specifications
Conduct quality assurance reviews of design and engineering products
Interface with customers and government sponsors
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil or structural engineering
Ability to maintain a DOD Secret Clearance
U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
Physically capable to conduct ship checks on United States Nuclear Submarines
Be comfortable in relatively confined spaces
Capable of climbing vertical ladders (20' – 25') within the submarine
At least two (2) years business experience in working with AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor or SolidWorks
At least two (2) years business experience in working with MATHCAD Engineering Mathematics Software (or similar software)
At least two (2) years business experience in working with Finite Element Analysis
At least two (2) years business experience in working with Microsoft Office
