Senior Water Resources Scientist or Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Water Resources Scientist or Engineer to lead and assist their water resource engineering and management team, focusing on business development and project management in Nevada's water resources sector.

Responsibilities
Developing, leading, and managing water resource engineering and management studies, including water banking, water rights, water planning, and mining water related services
Leading business development for Nevada water resources opportunities, staff development, recruiting, and mentoring
Leading client and agency interactions, including presenting technical information to state and local agencies and the public
Evaluating surface water hydrology, groundwater, water quality, and water demand data in the context of water supply management and mine water related issues
Conducting field investigations, including estimation of water use, well inspections, streamflow monitoring, and a range of related activities to support water resource and mine permitting projects
Managing multiple projects within the scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensuring quality standards on project deliverables
Managing the overall delivery of projects including, project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management
Effectively stewarding and building client relationships to earn repeat business
Help broaden our reputation via publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, hydrology, hydrogeology, natural resources science, watershed sciences, environmental management, or environmental science with an emphasis on water resources or a closely related discipline
At least 8 years of experience in the water resources field in the United States, preferably in the Southwest U.S.; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in one or more water-related disciplines, including mine water/permitting issues
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed
Excellent writing and communication skills
Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and travel on a limited basis
Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
Preferred
Advanced degree in engineering, hydrology, hydrogeology, natural resources science, watershed sciences, environmental management, or environmental science, with emphasis on water resources or closely related discipline
Professional registration (i.e., P.E., P.G., CPESC, CPSWG)
Experience managing the overall delivery of projects including, project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management
Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers
