Senior Linux Administrator - DHS OSDSS

The Senior Linux Administrator will provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems, manage IT system infrastructure, and ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities
Work with Nagios IT infrastructure monitoring
Provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of customer IT Systems
Manage IT system infrastructure and maintenance (Patching/upgrades)
Support day to day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for any issues that arise with administered systems
Provide second level problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
Provide technical expertise to perform Systems Administration for Windows and Linux OS
Provide Tier 3 level support in resolution of Windows and Linux systems
Maintain storage allocation, backup, recovery and replication procedures
Support systems platform migration
Tracking of vendor maintenance and support agreements to ensure coverage
Provisioning of user-ids for all production and database servers
Creating and maintain of standard operating procedures for production and DR data base platforms as directed
Qualification
Required
10+ years' experience supporting Linux and Windows Operating Systems
Nagios Experience
U.S. Citizenship required
Must be able to pass a Federal background investigation
Must be able to support 'On-Call Schedule'
Must have an aptitude to learn new tools and technologies
Preferred
Experience supporting Nagios
Experience with UNIX/Linux/Windows system administration (command line level), including experience with PowerShell and Scripting (Python, JSON, Ruby, BASH)
Experience supporting JAVA Applications Services with dependencies on F5 load balancers, external web service calls, proxy gateways, JDBC and JMS/MQ
Experience with some of these scripting languages: PowerShell, JSON, Python, Terraform, Ansible, Java, Bash, YAML, Cloud Formation, AWS CLI
Experience with Cloud Migration, automation, and DevOps tools: Such as: Ansible, Jenkins, Maven, Ant, SonarQube, Nexus, Jira, Confluence, Crucible/Fisheye, Git/GitHub, Subversion, Packer, Terraform
Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Azure including migration, deployments, automation of build-outs for Stack and Containerize Environments; and best practices in all major services they provide including but not limited to: networking, image management, compute, storage, monitoring and App-Services
Security using LDAP registry and setup of SSO using SPNEGO and SAML
Advanced troubleshooting skills including analyzing log & trace files, opening service requests, collecting documentation, working with Vendors, and driving problem resolution
Ability to coordinate configuration changes, installs, & upgrades with application owners—including planning, scheduling, status reporting, and following company change control procedures
Ability to create support documentation & written procedures for routine and non-routine tasks
Support day to day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for any issues that arise with the infrastructure or security concerns
Analyze user interfaces, maintain software performance tuning, analyze workload and analyze proposed system upgrades and insertion of COTS products in the infrastructure
Analyze security impacts of proposed system upgrades or changes to the infrastructure including the implementation of COTS products
Understanding/familiarity with cloud security framework
