Responsibilities
Plan out the seating chart and organize the reservations
Monitor the open dining sections of the restaurant, estimating wait times for guests, monitoring the guest waiting list, and ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting
Responsible for answering the telephone and checking voice mail, booking reservations and assist with moving tables together to accommodate large parties
Escort the guests to their table, pull seat out for the ladies, and present menus; ensure all menus are wiped down, free of spots or stains, and complete
Communicate with servers, e.g. when guests are seated, when sections become full
Ensure entry doors are clean, free of debris and inviting; inspect dining room for neatness and cleanliness
Say a warm goodbye and thank you to guests
Assists or fills where necessary when requested by restaurant manager
Qualification
Required
HS Diploma or GED
Very personable and professional
Ability to read and write English fluently
Follow instructions verbally and in written form
Have basic assessment and math skills to estimate wait times for guests
Able to stand for long periods of time during work day
Visual acuity to inspect cleanliness of menus, tables, entry way, and dining area
Preferred
Fluent in foreign language(s) is an asset but not required
