Responsibilities
Creates and modifies detailed models and drawings using CAD software from sketches, layouts, and/or notes provided by engineers
Reviews drawings for correctness and conformance to standards
Creates and updates drawing templates to comply with company and industry standards
May perform tasks related to product data management (PDM) such as file maintenance, backup and storage
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
4-6 years of experience in post-high school education courses in mechanical modeling, drafting, dimensioning/tolerancing or 4-6 years related experience and/or training is required
Proficiency with engineering CAD software is required
Proficiency with ASME Y14 drafting standards is required
Preferred
Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
CATIA is preferred, SolidWorks is desirable
Familiarity with composite design packages such as CATIA CPD or Fibersim is preferred
Experience performing complex surface modeling for aerospace components is desirable
Experience creating drawings for composites to ASME Y14.37 standards is desirable
Experience reviewing models and drawings made by others and providing feedback is preferred
Experience working in a PDM environment is preferred
Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision in order to meet deadlines
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web-browsers
