Conservation Education 2026 Paid Internship - Harris-Stowe State University
Saint Louis Zoo is seeking interns for their Conservation Education Internship program, aimed at providing an introduction to zoo education and informal education fields for individuals seeking an education degree. Interns will shadow various aspects of the Conservation Education Department and participate in learning opportunities to support their future careers in education.
Museums and Historical Sites
Responsibilities
Shadow each aspect of the Conservation Education Department, including summer camps, outreach programs, on-grounds interpretation, early childhood programs, direct conservation work, and much more
Meet with peers for regular learning opportunities such as tours, career panels and professional development
Demonstrate learning at the completion of the internship through a presentation
Qualification
Required
Applicants should be current students or recent graduates of Harris-Stowe State University
Minimum age requirement is 18
Applicants need not be currently enrolled in college/university, but prior college coursework is required
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for this position
All successful candidates will be required to undergo a criminal background check and drug test
A negative drug test result is mandatory. The drug test screens for five substances, including marijuana
