Air Quality Engineer

Responsibilities
Preparing air emissions inventories and environmental compliance reports
Preparing emissions calculations and air permit applications
Conducting regulatory analyses related to federal, state, and local air regulations regarding Clean Air Act, National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPs), and New Source Performance Standards (NSPS)
Conducting air dispersion modeling analysis
Performing analyses related to air pollution control systems and source monitoring and measurement requirements; and
Providing environmental compliance and litigation support services, such as compliance audits and reviews, hazardous waste and material management
Training: This position requires health and safety, first aid, CPR, and other training, as well as medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our employees to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants
Fieldwork: Up to 20%
Overnight travel: Up to 20%
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
Additionally, the selected candidate may be asked to support environmental permitting and compliance services in related disciplines, such as those driven by the Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, and National Environmental Policy Act
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental or chemical engineering or an aligned scientific discipline
Minimum 5 years of air quality permitting and compliance experience with an environmental consulting firm or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong hands-on spreadsheet and database comprehension
Experienced in air quality permitting and air quality compliance in Texas
Regular field work and overnight travel
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing
Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
Preferred
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, if applicable
Advanced degree in environmental or chemical engineering
Experience with air quality modeling (SCREEN3, AERSCREEN, and AERMOD)
Experienced in air quality permitting and air quality compliance in Louisiana
Experience in environmental compliance services (stormwater, spill planning, hazardous waste, etc.) and compliance auditing
