Start in 2026Saint Louis Zoo is offering a paid internship in the Endocrinology lab. Interns will collect and analyze data, receive training in noninvasive hormone monitoring techniques, and assist with various research projects.
Museums and Historical Sites
Responsibilities
Collect, organize, and analyze data from a variety of projects
Be provided with training in techniques for noninvasive hormone monitoring
Process serum, urine and fecal samples
Perform fecal hormone extraction
Apply EIA and RIA assay methodology
Prepare reagents
Participate in discussions of scientific literature
Perform literature searches
Record keeping
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Completion of undergraduate coursework in related field of study, including at least two laboratory-based courses
Good attention to detail
Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a laboratory setting
Ability to follow directions
Ability to work independently
Ability to handle confidential information
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Preferred
Prior experience in collaborative research projects, whether in class or independently in association with their college/university
