Responsibilities
Civil design, coastal design, geotechnical investigation, and site layout
Geotechnical engineering analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, and seismic
Geotechnical and site characterization
Review factual design reports, borehole logs and laboratory testing
Preparation of geotechnical field investigation specifications and geotechnical interpretive reports
Prepare foundation and pile design as well as ground improvement recommendations
Developing engineering solutions to challenging structural and geotechnical problems and site conditions
Coordination and support with marine and structural team on projects
Oversee waterfront structure and marine infrastructure projects
Design and engineering for a variety of areas such as harbors, marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads and seawalls, breakwaters and shore protection structures, shoreline stabilization and sediment management
Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems
Small project/task management and proposal preparation support
Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications; and
Attend meetings with clients and regulatory authorities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil, coastal, structural or geotechnical engineering
At least 5 years (7+ preferred) of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong oral and technical writing skills
Preferred
Advanced degree in civil, coastal, structural or geotechnical engineering
Professional engineer licensure
Familiarity with international geotechnical design standards including Eurocode and British Standards
Familiarity and experience on coastal and waterfront projects
Experience with engineering software such as AUTOCAD, Slope/W, SAP2000, ALLPILE, STAAD Pro, MATLab, SWAN, SBEACH, MIKE21, and Plaxis. (2D/3D)
