Construction
Responsibilities
Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables
Conduct OTDR, power meter, and light source testing to verify cable integrity
Interpret and work from network schematics, blueprints, and splice diagrams
Install and maintain fiber optic systems in aerial and underground settings
Troubleshoot and repair damaged fiber systems
Maintain accurate records of splicing activities and test results
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company protocols
Collaborate with field crews, project managers, and clients to meet project timelines
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred
Minimum 2 years of experience in fiber splicing or related telecommunications work
Proficiency with fiber splicing tools and test equipment (e.g., OTDR, fusion splicer)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Preferred
Experience with GIS mapping and documentation tools
Knowledge of coaxial cable systems and small cell installations
Familiarity with safety protocols in utility construction environments
