Responsibilities

Provide hands-on support of the pilot manufacturing lab processes via troubleshooting of equipment and processes using engineering best practices
Design, commission, and install new processes and equipment with the objective of transferring robust systems to E Ink’s pilot manufacturing team and trained chemical operators
Support development teams by envisioning new processes, addressing key technical risks, and driving safety initiatives to deliver robust processes to chemical operators
Monitor performance of materials produced from processes under direct ownership and use statistical process control to identify equipment and process disruptions
Provide management with clear, concise reports or other status communications detailing the status of manufacturing processes
Collaborate with teams, including Research & Development, Quality, and Operations, to ensure alignment between development goals and manufacturing capabilities. Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) during all phases of process design and operation
Implement and leverage digital tools to enhance process transparency and decision-making across pilot operations

Required

BS degree in chemical or mechanical engineering with 2 - 10 years of experience OR MS degree in chemical or mechanical engineering with 0 - 7 years of experience
Understanding of the complexity of processing hazardous materials, specifically flammable solvents, and chemical reactants
High attention to detail with a mechanical aptitude
Clear, concise communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

Preferred

Training in chemical processes or manufacturing
AutoCAD, P&ID, or automation controls experience or training
Ability to understand and write code
