Cybersecurity Intern - Tri-County EMC
North Carolina's Electric Cooperatives is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern to support their cybersecurity program. The intern will gain hands-on experience with cybersecurity tooling, assist in responding to alerts, and conduct assessments, while also making proactive recommendations to improve existing processes.

Responsibilities
Meet with Tri-County EMC to discuss project assignments, milestones, and deadlines
Work under the supervision of Tri-County EMC staff member to complete project assignments
Apply technical problem-solving cybersecurity skills to recommend and implement improvements to existing processes
Responsible for making pro-active recommendations to any current cybersecurity environment
Communicating research and results to management through reports and development of presentations
Qualification
Required
Actively enrolled in a Cybersecurity or approved Computer Science Degree program with an emphasis on Cybersecurity
Enrollment in an accredited university
General understanding of computer hardware and software
Understanding of the importance of securing information within business systems
Strong desire to expand knowledge and understanding around all things related to a formal cybersecurity program
Natural desire to be proactive when recognizing security gaps
Desire to work with a team
Preferred
Experience contributing as a team member is desirable
