Stinson LLP is seeking a highly motivated intellectual property litigation associate attorney to join its Kansas City office. The attorney will work on a variety of intellectual property cases and receive training from experienced trial attorneys.

Responsibilities

Work with Stinson's intellectual property litigators in St. Louis, Kansas City and Minneapolis
Work on a wide variety of patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition, and trade secret cases
Receive training from experienced trial attorneys
Represent clients in intellectual property litigation and/or post grant review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board
Manage ESI collection and production
Take and defend depositions
Analyze patents and prior art
Draft claim charts
Collaborate on expert reports
Draft substantive motions
Prepare for and assist in hearings and trial

Required

Juris Doctor degree
3+ years of experience in intellectual property litigation, especially patent litigation, or complex federal court litigation
Excellent academic credentials and excellent research, writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required
Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task efficiently and be an independent thinker
Licensed to practice law in Missouri or able to become licensed in Missouri required

Preferred

Undergraduate degree in science or engineering a plus
Patent Bar eligibility a plus
Clerkship experience a plus
