Responsibilities

Complete repairs in swine facilities related to plumbing, carpentry, electrical, hardware / gating, heating and cooling systems

Manage tools and parts inventories in service vehicles to enable timely completion of work orders

Prioritize work orders to ensure high priority tasks are repaired first

Safely work with hand and power tools to complete work orders

Adhere to pig owners strict bio-security and animal well-being standards

Perform duties in a safe manner and follow all safety policies

Maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, visitors, neighbors, and co-workers

All other duties assigned by Manager

Required

Must be mechanical minded

Ability to trouble shoot and utilize resources to problem solve issues

Comfortable working around livestock

Work with limited or no supervision

Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel, crouch

The employee must be able to continuously repeat necessary movements such as bending, lifting and different hand movements as needed to complete tasks

Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds frequently and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds

Ability to climb up ladders and over gates

Ability to climb on and off livestock trailers that can be as short as 40 inches in height

This position is performed inside swine facilities with the occasional need for some tasks to be performed in outside weather conditions

As times, exposure to loud noises along with dust and fumes particularly in Winter months

This position is full time working Monday-Friday with the occasional weekend work with the additional availability during weather and staffing challenges

Working knowledge of three to six months of general maintenance

Valid driver's license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
