Governor's Summer Intern - INDOT - Traffic - Seymour
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation is offering a summer internship program with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). The Traffic Engineering Intern will assist in various division projects while gaining hands-on experience in the field of transportation engineering.

Responsibilities
Learning and using ArcGIS to update and enhance various databases (official actions, no passing zones, lighting, etc)
Creating work order diagrams to provide safety enhancements across the District
Updating school zones across the District to meet all MUTCD criteria
Establishing No Passing Zones in urban areas
Conduct investigations by collecting and analyzing data to determine possible improvements
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Basic knowledge of the mission and role of INDOT
Basic understanding of state policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
Knowledge of state government structure, administrative procedures, and the legislative process
Ability to research, draft, and edit data and reports
Analytical skills
Ability to handle multiple projects
Ability to operate computer tools
Good research and writing skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills suitable for a wide variety of contacts
Confidence and ability to learn on the job and adapt quickly to changing circumstances

Relevant work experience preferred
