Sr. Patent Engineer/Technologist

Murata's pSemi Corporation is focused on semiconductor integration and is seeking a Senior Patent Engineer/Technologist to enhance their high-performance semiconductor capabilities. The role involves contributing to the management and utilization of a patent portfolio aimed at advancing technology in RF semiconductor applications.

Responsibilities

Working with our engineering and product development teams in seeding, harvesting, and developing invention disclosures
Contributing to strategic projects leveraging our IP portfolio for implementing our business strategy
Working with our RF prosecution team and inventors in capturing high-value patents (and trade secrets) in alignment with our business goals
Defining and leading reverse engineering projects, analyzing teardown reports at both module and circuit/die levels, and developing Claim Charts and business cases for strategic utilization
Defining and implementing competitive patent portfolio analysis based on specific business needs

Required

Master's degree in electrical engineering or physics, or equivalent industry experience in RF circuits, systems/modules, and devices
Minimum 3-year of experience in RF devices and RF circuit design, including PA, LNA, switches and filters
Excellent analytical, communication, and strategic thinking skills
Prior exposure to patents, patent prosecution, and defensive or offensive utilization of patents

Preferred

Additional experience/knowledge in one or more of the following areas: IC process and manufacturing technologies and/or packaging
Leading reverse engineering tasks and performing analysis of tear-down reports at the circuit, die, and module levels
RFFE systems and architecture
USPTO registration as a Patent Agent or Patent Attorney, though not required
Demonstrated ability to originate and develop novel patent assertion theses, including articulating technical, business justifications and risk mitigation, experience in claim charting, licensing models, IP strategy, and competitive landscape analysis
Demonstrated curiosity, passion, and an open mind for problem solving and creating new opportunities at the intersection of technology, business, and intellectual property
Prior experience in interacting with or working at multi-national organizations
