Armstrong World Industries is seeking motivated candidates for their Summer Engineering Internship opportunities based at their Corporate Campus in Lancaster, PA. As an R&D Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will complete an assigned engineering project and contribute to several ongoing R&D engineering projects while gaining valuable insights into large-scale manufacturing facilities and processes.

Responsibilities

Completing an assigned engineering project during the term of the internship

Contributing to several ongoing R&D engineering projects

Experience with and exposure to supporting the Project Management Life Cycle, including:

Preparation of project specifications and requirements

Project schedule coordination and utilization of Project Management tools

Project execution, project closing activities, and sustainability initiatives

Valuable insight into large-scale manufacturing facilities, equipment, and safe working practices

3D Modeling or Simulation Modeling – to predict process/material interactions

Exposure to Sorting, conveying, combustion, sanding, fluid, and pneumatic transfer systems

Required

Must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) at an ABET accredited program AND be a maximum of 24 months away from graduation

Previous internship in a manufacturing or R&D environment
