4+ years expAVL ZalaZONE is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Data & ML) to build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines and develop machine learning models. This role involves applying MLOps best practices and collaborating with data scientists to bring models from prototype to production.

Responsibilities
Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines on Databricks using PySpark and Delta Lake, ensuring both performance and scalability
Develop, train, and deploy machine learning and deep learning models (TensorFlow, PyTorch) into production environments
Apply MLOps best practices, including MLflow for experiment tracking, Unity Catalog for governance, CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Databricks Asset Bundles), and automated testing
Perform performance tuning on Spark jobs, data pipelines, and ML workloads
Design and operate cloud-native architectures with Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker for deploying ML solutions
Collaborate closely with data scientists and engineers to bring models from prototype to production
Qualification
Required
Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
At least 4 years of hands-on experience with Databricks in production environments
Strong Python OOP skills, including experience with packaging tools (uv, poetry, or similar) and adherence to clean code practices
Solid background in ML & DL, with production deployment experience (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
Advanced knowledge of statistics and time series analysis (e.g., histograms, heatmaps, interpolation, integrals, derivatives)
Practical experience with common data formats (CSV, JSON, Parquet, Delta Lake)
Strong expertise in Azure, including Azure Databricks, ADLS, AAD, and Unity Catalog
CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines, automated testing pipelines, and Databricks Asset Bundles
Preferred
Familiarity with automotive data (vehicle signals, test benches, simulations) is a strong plus
