Governor's Summer Intern - INDOT - Technical Services

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation is offering a Governor's Summer Internship Program designed to provide college students with real-world experience in their field of study. The GIS Analyst Intern will assist the Indiana Department of Transportation with various projects and responsibilities while gaining valuable skills and experiences.

Responsibilities

Evaluate existing Customer Service Access program provide upgrade recommendations
Update/Reflect the Official Actions of the Crawfordsville District roads in a GIS layer
Update/Reflect the No Passing Zones of the Crawfordsville District roads in a GIS layer
Update/Reflect the Agreements of the Crawfordsville District roads in a GIS layer
Assist Traffic Operations with updating and entering sheet and panel sign inventory in a GIS layer
Prepare a presentation for the Crawfordsville District to reflect on projects’ accomplishments and skills/experience gained during the internship period
Other duties as assigned

Required

Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Indiana Driver's License is required to operate state vehicles
Basic knowledge of the mission and role of INDOT
Basic understanding of state policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
Knowledge of state government structure, administrative procedures, and the legislative process
Ability to research, draft, and edit data and reports
Analytical skills
Ability to handle multiple projects
Ability to operate computer tools, including GIS and various Microsoft Office software products
Good research and writing skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills suitable for a wide variety of contacts
Confidence and ability to learn on the job and adapt quickly to changing circumstances
