The Legal Counsel - Contracts is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements while advising on contractual risks and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

Drafts, reviews, and negotiates a wide range of agreements, including strategic supply and equipment purchase contracts, sales agreements, logistics agreements, consulting agreements, leases, software licenses, IT service agreements, privacy and confidentiality agreements

Provides practical legal advice on contracts, dispute resolution, legal risk and best practices on a variety of topics to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Develops and implements improvements to contracting processes, including development of standard templates, checklists, process flows, and training for business stakeholders

Conducts legal research on contractual and other legal issues

Monitors legal and regulatory developments, such as extended producer responsibility laws and trade relations, and advises leadership accordingly

Collaborates with business leaders to develop proactive strategies for risk mitigation

Performs special projects and other duties as assigned

Required

6-8 years' relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and current active license to practice law, Georgia preferred

Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills to a variety of audiences, with the ability to present complicated issues clearly, simply and succinctly

Demonstrated ability to get things done both through formal channels and informal networks

Experience working with limited day-to-day supervision

Highly analytical; excellent problem-solving abilities

Detail-oriented; able to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure

Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field

Recognized cross-functionally as an expert within one or two subject matter areas

Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
